Jesse Forman: A Duke Superfan Story
Share
Picture this: you're halfway through cheering on your favorite team from the best seats (the student section) in the stadium. You're painted head-to-toe in body paint, when halfway through the game, you start feeling very uncomfortable. "It turns out, we were covered in house paint."
On this episode of Superfan Diaries, our host J.R. Greene sat down with true Duke Basketball royalty, superfan Jesse, and his stories are pure March Madness. 🏀
Born and raised on Long Island, New York is where Jesse's sports loyalty originates. A New York Giants fan, a Brooklyn Nets fan, and a New York Mets fan. Jesse left New York for college, and attended Duke University from 2010 to 2014 - where his Duke Basketball fandom was born. From multiple tenting endeavors (tenting is a Duke tradition that students follow in order to secure a sport for the highly coveted Duke vs. University of North Carolina game), to accidentally painting himself with house paint alongside a group of friends, Jesse bleeds blue for Duke.

Two of Jesse's top fandom-related highlights include meeting Grant Hill during ESPN 30 For 30 filming (while wearing a Hill jersey) and being featured on the cover of the New York Times during the 2014 Brazil World Cup (sporting his signature face paint).

For more stories you'll have to hear to believe, tune in to this unmissable episode to get the scoop on late night locker room antics, tenting, and almost getting punched by Kevin Garnett.
