Nashville's Upshot team is the sixth franchise in the league and made history with an investor group that is majority women.

She also serves on the board of Play Like a Girl, a nonprofit that uses sports to empower girls academically and professionally, and the Tennessee Performing Arts Center — and as chair of HCA's ITG Culture and Values Council, she brings that same mission of inclusion into the corporate world.

Her work earned her the 2024 Nashville Black Chamber Community Advocate Award, the 2022 Diversity & Inclusion Advocate of the Year from the Nashville Technology Council, and the 2020 YMCA Impact Award. The accolades are real. But if you ask Sheila, the work is the point.
