The Bronco Babe: Denver Broncos Superfan Catherine Highland
Share
Born and raised in the heart of Texas, Catherine Highland moved to Denver in 1993. After attending her first NFL game, Catherine was immediately hooked. Armed with season tickets for the Denver Broncos and her signature orange-and-blue spirit, game-day fits, and unstoppable heart, it wasn't long before she was recognized as the official Bronocos superfan. In over 30 years of being a season ticket holder, Catherine hasn't missed a single home game, and has traveled across the United States, and beyond, to see her favorite team play.
Over the years, Catherine has transformed her love for the Broncos into community action — leading fundraisers, charitable drives, fan events, and Broncos-themed outreach that has touched countless families. She’s raised money, raised awareness, raised SPIRITS, and raised the bar for what real fandom looks like.

As a self-taught cook with a passion for spending time in the kitchen with her loved ones, when Bronco Babe first co-starred at Fired Up! Tailgate, she set out to cook homemade food for over 300 attendees. As the tailgate grew over time, people now come from all over the world to attend the event and try some of Catherine's iconic cooking - with all proceeds going to charity.
Managed with a bit of support, the tailgate coordinated by Catherine is dedicated amazing causes such as the Ronald McDonald House, Hope Kids Colorado, and Children's Diabetes Foundation. Additionally, she has contributed to Broncos fundraising auctions, charities such as the Wounded Warrior Foundation, Women on Wheels, and Children's Hospital Colorado. Featured on ABC Denver for fundraising tens of thousands of dollars for the Children's Hospital Colorado, you can read more about Catherine's fundraising effort here.

Fired Up! Tailgate was inducted into the Tailgating Hall of Fame in 2019: In the shadow of the Rocky Mountains, just outside Empower Field at Mile High, a siren blares and orange lights flash as Broncos Country Engine No. 7 rolls into the lot. When the vintage fire truck pulls in, flanked by the scent of sizzling sausage and the warm hospitality of some of Denver’s most passionate fans, you know you’ve found it: the Fired Up! Tailgate — a gameday institution and the heart of community-focused fan celebration in Broncos Country.
This amazing endeavor, rooted in fandom but bolstered by the dedication to give back, has changed the lives of countless children and families in Denver, all supported by Catherine and those around her.
And what's the biggest Broncos rivalry for Bronco Babe, you might ask? "Oh, it's got to be the Kansas City Chiefs, for sure. The rivalry is real. I'm friends with all their superfans, you know - it's a big club, a very large organization. We've beat them, we continue to beat them, it just speaks volumes."
